Everything Teachers Need to Know About Executive Functioning

Attention teachers! Are you struggling to help your students stay focused, organized, and on-task? Executive function skills are the most important skills for teachers to understand and implement. Knowing this will transform your classroom. This course has got you covered!

The Gift of Co-Regulation

How can we provide co-regulation by being warm and responsive to children while avoiding burnout? It's a tough balance, but can be done.

How do you begin to better regulate yourself as a parent, so your kids can be better regulated?

Co-regulation is a precursor to self-regulation. This means kids learn best in the context of an adult or caregiver who is balanced, well-regulated, and who remains relatively calm most of the time even when pushed. Kids cannot regulate without being taught to regulate first.

Breaking Generational Cycles

We unconsciously pass on generational cycles and live out unhealthy patterns. They are often lived out and repeated in our parenting.

We hear so much talk about breaking generational cycles, healing our child wounds, getting out of toxic relationships, and ending unhealthy patterns.

It starts with you. You can heal. You can truly heal.

Let's start NOW!

Parenting the Highly Sensitive Child

Wouldn't it be wonderful to be accepted for the way we show up in this world? To not be driven by a need to please others?

Our children desire the same. Our highly sensitive children often feel alone in this world. It's okay to be a gentle and a strong force.

Wind, water, flowers all have these characteristics and we marvel at them all. Our children are no different.

If you want to learn practical strategies to help you on your parenting journey with your highly sensitive child, this course is for you.

Tantrums & Meltdowns

Are you struggling with your child's tantrums and emotional meltdowns?

When your toddler or child feels upset, disappointed, or frustrated, do they have a tantrum?

In response, do you give in, over-react, talk too much, nag, or punish?

Then, you might be accidentally prolonging the problem.

Meltdowns are different and need to be responded to differently as well. Do you know the difference?

ADHD & Me

It is easy to react and even feel offended by our children's comments and behaviors. We instinctively react out of anger to protect our feelings and to preserve our identity as a good parent.

However, when we respond out of anger and frustration to our child's behaviors, we miss the message they are really trying to send.

But, if we want to have a genuine and responsive connection with our children and hear their true need, we need to dig deeper.

Is it easy to do? Of course, not!

Stop Being the Frontal Lobe

Executive functioning skills are those skills that take years to develop and aren't fully developed until about age 26, sometimes later. Eeek! Because it's a skill, it can be learned. But, it takes tons of patience and repetition while it develops under the umbrella of a regulated and knowledgeable adult.

This workshop is different from any other course I've taught, as we will go through 10 different executive functioning skills and how you can seamlessly and intentionally weave them into your everyday life for yourself, your kids, and your home.

Fear, Worry, & Anxiety

If every time your child/teen is about to experience an anxiety-provoking situation, they are given permission to avoid, that anxiety response becomes strengthened. The anxiety becomes stronger over time, because it is rehearsed and reinforced.

Much like a muscle, as you do more of it, you get better at it. Anxiety falls under those same rules. There is a better way. Enroll now to learn all the ways you can help your child/teen (and yourself) cope with and face excessive fear, worry, and anxiety.

The Overwhelmed Brain: ADHD in Adults

As adults we get so busy with work, parenting, relationships, and adulting in general, we often neglect the parts of ourselves that keep us stuck.

Many adults struggle with executive functioning skills, like flexibility, task initiation, memory, time management, organization, problem solving, and emotional regulation. We often see ADHD and executive functioning challenges as a "kid thing" when these challenges don't actually go away when you become an official adult.

Sibling Conflict

Picture it: You’re sitting on your favorite spot on the couch reading a book. Your kids are playing nicely until….they’re not. It starts to get heated and you’re trying to decide if you should intervene, but before you can even put your book down, they’ve figured it out.

ON THEIR OWN. Without you!

Can you imagine a better feeling? You’re there for support, but you know they’ve got this! If this sounds like a dream to you, this is the course for you!

How to talk to your kids about Race & Racism

You'll learn powerful strategies to shift the conversation from uncomfortable to empowered when your kids ask you the hard questions.
